about

This is up there on my favorite song to play, playing it live always gives me a cathartic feeling within me. Shortly after my ex passed away, this would become the first song I ever wrote about her. She was the first one to encourage me to write songs years ago and I never thought it'd become reality. Josh also contributed some meaningful lyrics to this track and I'm grateful to him for it. Enjoy. (Eli)

lyrics

Do you have what it took?
You could rewrite the book.
All the promises made will fade away.
Hang me up on the phone,
question why you're all alone.
Hang my neck on the rope,
tell me that's just how it goes.

And I hope you know, I buried the weight you couldn't carry.
Take me home for the last time, give me time to say goodbye.

Take me back to when everything was fine,
not a single doubt was running through my mind.
I'm the enemy, but you're the end of me
This is the last time, back to the starting line

And I hope you know, I buried the weight you couldn't carry.
Take me home for the last time, give me time to say goodbye.

Just know I'm here to stay
Eight sirens on a field of space
Greyed out all the home we built
left to rot and left to wilt.
